Non-Immigrant Visas
Visas for Medical Treatment
The following information is required to apply for a Non-immigrant Visa for medical treatment in the United States.
From Doctor in Kenya
- Original letter from the attending physician in Kenya explaining the condition and ongoing treatment of the patient.
- Original letter explaining why the patient can't be treated in Kenya and why he /she needs to go to the U.S. for treatment.
From Hospital in United States
- Original letter explaining the doctor's knowledge of the patient's condition.
- Original letter explaining what the treatment will include and an estimate of costs (minimum/maximum) and the length of recuperation or duration of stay.
- Original letter with a specific appointment date or willingness to see the patient at earliest opportunity.
From Sponsor
- Original Affidavit of Support and/or original bank statements for the last six months.
- Original personal letter indicating where the patient will physically reside while undergoing treatment and follow-up checkups as well as explaining the reasons for sponsoring.
- Proof of sponsor's legal status in the United States.
Presentation of any or all of the above documents does not guarantee issuance of a visa. Applicants are still subject to section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Submission of fraudulent documents could render the applicant permanently ineligible for a visa.
