2007 PRESS RELEASES
Visa Appointments for Non-Immigrants Booked Through Early October, 2007
July 30, 2007
Due to unprecedented visa application volume coinciding with an unplanned staffing shortage, the wait for appointments for non-immigrant visas at the US Embassy is now out to October. While a limited number of appointments are available for truly urgent cases involving serious injury or death, a preplanned business trip that cannot be postponed, or a start date for school, these appointments are truly limited to cases of a very serious nature.
We urge nonimmigrant visa applicants to make routine appointments for nonimmigrant visas about three months in advance of the travel, and to avoid non-refundable air tickets until the visa is secured. Appointments are made online at http://nairobi.usembassy.gov/
